چکیده

Historical aerial photographs dramatically document changes in Florida’s land use. Between 1938 and 1971, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A.) created more than 88,000 black and white, 9 x 9 aerial photographs with 2,500 accompanying photomosaic indexes (19381971) of Florida. Flight lines were county based and each flight created dozens of individual aerial photographs, or tiles. Due to the unstable nature of the photographic negative’s sodium nitrate composition, the U.S. government destroyed archival negatives for the earliest photos. As a result, the aging hardcopy photographic prints are all that remain of this historic resource. Originally intended to assist farmers determine accurate assessments for their farms and to provide information on crop determination and soil conservation, today these images provide some of the oldest land use/cover information available. They are used extensively in agriculture, conservation, urbanization, recreation, education, hydrology, geology, land use, ecology, geography, and history.

Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles from Spent X-Ray Photographic Solution via Chemical Rreduction

Silver metal was recovered primarily from spent X-ray photographic solution using a horizontal tube furnace. The X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy analysis approved almost 95 percent purity of the recovered silver metal. In the next step, the synthesis of silver nanoparticles from the recovered silver metal proceeded by using chemical reduction method. The proposed method uses e...

Immunofluorescent protein detection in Western blotting

This report describes the detailed procedures for Western blot analysis using fluorescent antibodies. After electrophoresis and subsequent electroblotting, the fluorescent-labeled antibodies were visible upon ultraviolet illumination of the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes and could then be photographed to give an accurate record of the blots. Fluorescent labeling allows for photographi...

Diagnostic Accuracy of the Photographic Expressive Persian Grammar Test to Identify 4-6 Years Old Children With Developmental Language Disorder

Objectives: Accurate diagnosis of Persian children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) is regarded as a challenge for Speech and Language Pathologists (SLPs) in Iran because of the lack of formal linguistic tests that can reliably distinguish language-impaired children from Typically-Developing (TD) children. This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic accuracy of the photographic exp...

An Approach to Developing Numeric Water Quality Criteria for Coastal Waters Using the SeaWiFS Satellite Data Record

Human activities on land increase nutrient loads to coastal waters, which can increase phytoplankton production and biomass and associated ecological impacts. Numeric nutrient water quality standards are needed to protect coastal waters from eutrophication impacts. The Environmental Protection Agency determined that numeric nutrient criteria were necessary to protect designated uses of Florida'...
